Mothers Day

Hola amigos ! Happy Sunday to all and a very happy Mothers Day to all the lovely Moms.

So, what how are you gonna make this day special for your mom ? Partying ? Giving her a gift ? Taking her out, on a sort of holiday ? Well, whatever it be, its gonna be great for sure.

The origin of Mother's Day as the world knows it today can be traced back to the United States. In 1908 Anna Jarvis held a memorial for her mother in the US. She then began a campaign to make "Mother's Day" a recognized holiday in the United States. Her attempts bore fruit in 1914, and since then the day is celebrated every year.

Most countries celebrate the day on the second Sunday of May, while others observe Mother's Day on different days, with 8th March and 21st March the other popular dates, across the world. The countries that recognize the second Sunday of May as Mother's Day includes Canada, Australia, most parts of Europe, India & other parts of Asia, Brazil and other parts of South America, as well as many countries in Africa.

A mother won't ever let her child down, she can't see the child cry, she'll do anything & everything to make the child happy, even if it causes harm to her. Every mom is the world's best. You can't compare one mom to another.

Everyone reading this post, wish your mom a very happy Mothers Day on my behalf and if any mother is reading this, Happy Mothers Day to you, ma'am. :D

Ending this post with a poem, as usual. But, today being a special day, there isn't one, but three poems.

Here's the first one -

We say the feeling should come from our heart.
Sometimes a lot of thoughts are misunderstood.
At that time, forget what's good and bad.
Maybe that is the reason why
We usually hesitate to try
And sometimes we wanna cry.
Still, she will always be hard.
But also be on guard.
At that point of time, we should figure out what's right.
Or hold on to our mother, tight.
Because she is someone who can give you a correct advice.
So remember, be nice.
She will always be your friend,
No matter you follow what trend.
You can trust her with closed eyes,
Because she never gives you lies.
Some things from her maybe hard to believe,
But, she is actually very hard to say good-bye and leave.
So always be smart.
And love your mother from deep down the heart.

And here's the second one -

Her hands held me gently from the day I took my first breath.
Her hands helped to guide me as I took my first step.
Her hands held me close when the tears would start to fall.
Her hands were quick to show me that she would take care of it all.
Her hands were there to brush my hair, or straighten a wayward bow.
Her hands were often there to comfort the hurts that didn't always show.
Her hands helped hold the stars in place, and encouraged me to reach.
Her hands would clap and cheer and praise when I captured them at length.
Her hands would also push me, though not down or in harms way.
Her hands would punctuate the words, just do what I say.
Her hands sometimes had to discipline, to help bend this young tree.
Her hands would shape and mold me into all she knew I could be.
Her hands are now twisting with age and years of work,
Her hand now needs my gentle touch to rub away the hurt.
Her hands are more beautiful than anything can be.
Her hands are the reason I am me.

And here's the third, and the last, poem -

You are the sunlight in my day,
You are the moon I see far away.
You are the tree I lean upon,
You are the one that makes troubles be gone.
You are the one who taught me life,
How not to fight, and what is right.
You are the words inside my song,
You are my love, my life, my mom.
You are the one who cares for me,
You are the eyes that help me see.
You are the one who knows me best,
When it's time to have fun and time to rest.
You are the one who has helped me to dream,
You hear my heart and you hear my screams.
Afraid of life but looking for love,
I'm blessed for God sent you from above.
You are my friend, my heart, and my soul
You are the greatest friend I know.
You are the words inside my song,
You are my love, my life, my everything.
You are my Mom.

P.S. - Here's some Google doodles for Mothers Day, for the year 2013 and a couple of years before it.

Cartoons

Hola amigos ! How you doing ? I hope everyone enjoyed their weekend.

So, what are you upto now ? Lunch time for a majority of people. Have your lunch properly, please. Energy is required to go home in one piece ;)

Well, I chose this topic for today because some pals reminded me of the days when we used to watch these toons. Totally awesome they were. There's a long list. But naming my personal favorites, they are Popeye, Scooby Doo, Dexter's Laboratory, Johnny Bravo, Pingu, Oswald, the Jetsons, Recess, Tom & Jerry, Flintstones, Ed, Edd & Eddy, Courage the Cowardly Dog, Pokemon and Bob the Builder. (I know my list is very long :P )

Courage always saved Muriel's and Eustace's lives.

Pikachu always helped Ash, no matter what his condition was.

Pingu and his friend put a fish down their throats and the skeleton of the fish came out.

The Jetsons had super awesome technology.

Johnny Bravo was too involved with babes and loved to look at himself in a mirror.

Popeye ate spinach and got his enemies black n' blue.

Bob finished every task on time with his team.

Jerry always outwitted Tom.

Dexter was troubled hell loads by Dee-Dee.

The Mystery Inc. solved each and every mystery.

The Flintstones drove cars with their feet and the main 'gang' of Recess had tons of fun in every episode.

So, which ones were your favorites ? I've started a poll on the blog. You can vote for your favorites there. Let's see who leads the race. ;) :D

Sayonara people. See you soon. Get voting, quick ;)

Childhood Memories

Hola amigos ! How are you doing ? Everything cool ? Oh sorry. My bad. How can it everything be 'cool' when the temperature is so high. The summer heat is getting intense day by day. Hope there's rain pretty soon.

So what else ? I guess all the school and college people have their summer vacations going on. What have you planned to do during your vacations ? (I could use some suggestions for myself :P )

Anyways, coming to today's topic, or the 'mudda' as Mumbaikars call it. How many of you remember how your childhood went ? Almost everybody remembers that. Everyone has mostly the same childhood, but there are some differences. Some loved to hear stories, some loved playing while some loved just hanging around with their parents (Momma's Boys and Daddy's Girls).

Those days were just awesome. No worries, not much of studying, a pretty long play time and being the star of your relatives' eyes. If you fell down, people wouldn't laugh at your, rather they help you get up and cheer you up. If you did anything wrong, you wouldn't get scolded or punished, you were just told to never repeat it again.

A time when we wanted to get the Moon and we ran like mad behind a butterfly.
When we didn't care what about time.
When we came back home from school, tired & exhausted, but still wanted to go and play.
When we listened to Grandma's stories and had crazy imaginations.
When we made paper boats during monsoon and enjoyed every season.
When everyone played together and enjoyed to their heart's content.
When 'katti' and 'batti' were the most common words.
When we didn't have sorrows and didn't get our hearts broken.
When we didn't a reason to cry and laugh.
Those were the days of childhood.
Full of joy, fun, craziness and smiles.

Sayonara folks. See you soon ;) Take care. Have fun and I hope that you have a great weekend. :D

Today's poem is titled "Sweet Memories of Childhood"

Sweet memories of childhood,
Came to me like a soft breeze.
Memories that bought a smile to my lips,
Memories that tickle and tease.

Long forgotten moments,
Of times when we were young and brash.
Buried deeply in the folds of time,
Surfaced to consciousness like a flash.

Innocence was our hallmark,
And freshness clothed our skin.
No cares, no worries, that life consists of,
Just love from our kith and kin.

Giggly moments of awareness,
First stirrings of love and romance.
Revelling in being young people,
As life led us to a soulful dance.

Warm love and care of our parents,
A longing for our mother's food.
Relaxing and chilling in our familiar room,
Just being at home felt so good

Nurtured and nourished so lovingly,
We're grown up now, so have our friends.
Life has taught us well and truly,
As we traveled the climbs and bends.

There have been highs and lows too,
But we have withstood the trials well.
As we put in practice what we learnt,
That only time will truly tell.

But nothing can erase the happy moments,
That lift our spirits like a fragrant breeze.
These are memories imprinted forever,
Only in death will they ever cease.

Ah. During childhood, we were so lucky,
To have so much love and care.
Such loving parents to guide us,
As for life we prepare.

P.S. - I wish that for once, just for once, I could re-live my childhood days and I'm pretty sure, many of you do. :D :)

School Life

Yo people. Sorry for not posting for the past days. Couldn't take out time to write a post.

So, how are you doing ? Enjoying your life ? The heat is increasing day by day. A long shower can bring it down. Not the bathroom shower, rain shower.

Well, as you know my holidays are going on. They're going fun, but I'm missing school, classmates & teachers. I, still, perfectly remember how every day of my school went.

Entering the school premises in a very lively mood, enjoying the first few periods and then after 10:30 am, wondering when school would end. Tiffins were looted during breaks, mine was looted everyday. The food meant for just one person was munched on by 10-15 people. I always got a quarter of what I took to school. Be it paneer parontha, aloo parontha, thepla, sandwiches, poha, bread-butter, bread-cheese - once my tiffin opened, all of it was gone before the blink of an eye.
Then counting how many more periods are left before the school ends.

Some hell great days they were. Really miss them. All my classmates, here's something for you -

It was a fab life in school.
Now its gone, all that's left is memories.
We hurt some parts of ourselves.
There were crushes, breakups, fights and fun-filled games almost everyday.
All of us have learnt a lot and made a lot of mistakes in this life.
There was a time, when I was a stranger to all of you.
Thanks to each & everyone for making this stranger your friend.
You all taught me so many things.
Now its time for a new adventure, which we are unknown and new to.
Will miss you guys of North Point School.
The farewell party was the best time I spent with y'all.
Well, you all made each & everyday of the four years I spent in NPS special & remarkable, but it was great seeing everyone in formals.
We don't know whether we might meet again or not, I just hope we do.
Until then sayonara guys.
